Frequently Asked Questions

TCI is the joint venture company formed by DITO, GLOBE and SMART to enable number porting services in compliance with the Mobile Number Portability law.

Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is a global telco practice that enables mobile phone subscribers to keep their numbers even when they switch networks or change their subscription from postpaid to prepaid and vice versa, free of charge. This is in compliance with Republic Act (RA) 11202 or the MNP Act.

MNP can help promote consumer welfare by fostering the freedom to choose and to respond to quality, price and other relevant considerations without the consumers having to change their mobile numbers whenever they switch mobile service providers or subscription plans.

  1. Internal Porting: Retaining your current mobile number as you move from postpaid to a prepaid subscription, or vice versa, within your current network.

  2. External Porting: Retaining your current mobile number as you switch subscription to another network.

You may visit the website of your current mobile service to learn more.

Internal Porting

Step 1: Visit the nearest Store of your current network or apply via its available on-line channels.

Step 2: Submit the required documents for your application.

Step 3: Prepare to receive notification after successful MNP process and new account activation.

External Porting

Step 1: Go to your current network provider and ask for a Unique Subscriber Code (USC).

Step 2: Go to the network you want to switch to and present your USC.

Step 3: After completing their requirements, you will receive a new SIM; insert the SIM and
please wait for a notification that your port is successful.

The overall porting process will take 48 hours after approval of your MNP application. This does not include the shipping lead time should you wish to have the new SIM delivered via courier.

There will be a maximum of four (4) hours of service interruption (no voice, SMS & data) to complete the activation of your new subscription.

All current subscriptions, including prepaid load balance, Value Added Services (VAS) and other add-ons will automatically expire once your MNP application is approved and activated.

You may get in touch with your Account/Relationship for endorsement on the MNP application process.

There is no limit to the number of times of applying for the MNP. However, you may only be allowed to apply again after 60 days from the last successful porting activation.
